n 1955, Delaware Marine was established by Robert Smith.  Mr. Smith focused primarily on marine sales and service, but in the off-season of 1955, he attempted to repair his first propeller.  With a lot to learn about this extensive process, he kept his repair number low, but became more qualified throughout the years.  By the early 1970's, Mr. Smith was franchised by Michigan Wheel as a repair station and distributor for Michigan Wheel propellers, as well as being certified by Mercury and OMC as a repair station.  From that point on, Delaware Marine became Delaware Propeller, Inc. and Mr. Smith began to focus on propeller repair rather than marine repair.
